Jade Raymond Opens Motive Studios, A New EA Developer, in Montreal

Jade Raymond, formerly a Managing Director of Ubisoft Toronto, has announced that she has joined Electronic Arts and opened a new studio, to be called Motive Studios.

Motive Studios will be based in Montreal, and will work on developing projects for EA.  In particular, Raymond says that Motive will be working closely with Bioware on such franchises as Mass Effect.

With over 20 years experience, Raymond is well-known in the videogame industry.  Before coming to EA, she had been a correspondent with Victor Lucas’s Electric Playground TV program on G4.  Afterwards, she went to Ubisoft, where she was the Producer of Assassin’s Creed, one of Ubisoft’s flagship franchises.

Raymond and Ubisoft parted ways in October of 2014, with no word given as to why.  She gave no public hint as to her future, until now, with her EA announcement.
